The British Council’s Walking Cities programme pairs contemporary UK writers with international writers. They will meet in cities which are the setting for Shakespeare's plays across Europe, to tie in with the 400 year anniversary we are celebrating this year. The paired writers will explore their city, discussing Shakespeare’s influence on their writing along the way. The result will be a series of thought-provoking intercultural podcasts and short films to be released in November 2016.
Writers Kayo Chingonyi from the UK and Vienna-based Julya Rabinowich met in London on 14 September, and will meet again in Vienna on 22 September to explore the city that provides the setting for Shakespeare’s play Measure for Measure.
If you are interested in attending the public discussion please email the British Council Austria office by 21 September.
